In 2021-2022 I got the opportunity to Co-Produce the third episode of G.R.I.T.S. for SCAD. This production was distributed to Delta Airlines and won a student Emmy in 2022.
Episode 3: G.R.I.T.S. (Girls Raised in the South)
Tiana opens a second location of Belle’s in Savannah and tasks her cousin Chantelle with running it. When Chantelle’s perfectionism drives customers away, Tiana sends Chad to Savannah to help drum up business. Chad partners with a local tour company but his outrageous ideas cause Chantelle to call in her high-powered sorority sister, Kendall, for support. It’s Kendall’s military background vs. Chad’s exuberant creativity – and Belle’s Savannah is thrown into chaos unless Chantelle can exert her authority and find her confidant and authentic voice to lead the new Belle’s. Created, written and directed by students of color, G.R.I.T.S. was shot live in front of a studio audience.
